VE Day 80: The Nation Celebrates

All members of are warmly invited to attend a VE Day 80th celebration.

All members of the Irish Guards North of England Branch are warmly invited to attend VE Day 80: The Nation Celebrates, a national commemorative event organised by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) in collaboration with BBC Studios.

This special outdoor concert will take place at Horse Guards Parade, London on the evening of Thursday 8th May 2025, marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day. It is an opportunity to come together with organisations and representatives from across the UK to honour the service and sacrifices of all those who contributed to the Second World War effort.

How to Apply for Tickets

If you would like to attend the VE Day 80 concert, you must complete the official registration form using the link provided by the organisers.

Each attendee must provide their full name and a valid email address. You may also register for up to three guests.

Tickets are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Each ticket will be issued digitally through Ticketmaster and emailed directly to the lead booker. You must have a Ticketmaster account to access your mobile ticket once it has been issued.

Important

  • You will need to bring photographic ID with you to the event.
  • If you require accessible seating or are bringing a service dog, you must declare this when you register.
  • Travel and accommodation costs are the responsibility of each attendee.

Dress Code

Guests are encouraged to wear red, white and blue to add to the celebratory atmosphere. Uniforms are optional. As the concert is outdoors with a gravel surface, please dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear.

Tickets and Entry

Tickets will be issued closer to the event via Ticketmaster. You will need a Ticketmaster account to download your mobile ticket.

Important Information

  • If you have accessibility requirements, these must be notified in advance so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
  • Travel and accommodation costs must be covered by attendees.
  • Blue Badge parking spaces are extremely limited and must be applied for in advance.
  • Food and non-alcoholic drinks will be available to purchase onsite. Outside food is not permitted, except sealed bottles of water (500ml max).
  • All attendees will be subject to security screening. Only small bags (A4 size) are permitted.
  • Photographic ID must be brought for entry (passport, driving licence, MOD90, or EU ID card).
  • Children aged 11 and over are permitted to attend but must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Please note that the event will go ahead regardless of weather conditions – come prepared.
