Snowdon Challenge 2021

Alan Henshall, Kenny Owen and James Ross with the support of the Veterans of the Irish Guards Association – North of England Branch Family & Friends will climb Mount Snowdon in 2021.

The challenge was originally due to take place on the 4th September 2021. This has been delayed due to crowds on the mountain incline during the summer months and will be rearranged for later in the year.

We will travel to Llanberis and park all motorised vehicles at the car park facing the Llanberis train station. Postcode LL55 4TY.  Parking at the PYG track is limited.

All participants are to arrive at Llanberis Train Station no later than 08:00hrs to 08:30hrs on the Saturday morning 4th September 2021.

This will be a tough event and people participating should have the necessary fitness.  Everyone will climb the Llanberis Pass or PYG Track. There is an option to get the train. The aim is to get to the top!

Llanberis Pass

The Llanberis Pass is the easiest, having a steady incline but not the shortest path. A well-defined path with minimal route finding.

PYG Track

PYG Track is a tough route, if you suffer with bad Knees etc the Llanberis track will be the best route.
